Who we are:
New Hebron Missionary Baptist Church is a small, country church located in West Blocton, Alabama. Our congregation is made up of everyday people who have been changed by the grace of God and who desire to follow Jesus together. We are not a perfect church, but we are a loving church, and we are deeply committed to God’s Word, prayer, and caring for one another.
Our Story:
For many years, New Hebron has stood as a place of worship, fellowship, and hope in our community. Generations have gathered here to sing, to hear the preaching of Scripture, to celebrate life’s joys, and to walk together through life’s trials. Through seasons of change, one thing has remained the same: the faithfulness of God and our desire to keep Jesus Christ at the center of all we do.
Our Mission:
Our mission is to glorify God by:
Loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Loving one another as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Loving our neighbors and sharing the good news of Jesus with our community and beyond.
We believe the church is called to be a light in the world, pointing people to the hope and salvation found only in Jesus Christ.
What We Believe:
The Bible:
We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. It is our final authority for what we believe and how we live.
God:
We believe in one God who exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ:
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man, who came to earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again on the third day. Salvation is by grace alone through faith in Him.
Salvation:
We believe that all people are sinners in need of salvation, and that forgiveness and new life are found through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone.
The Church:
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers. Each local church is called to worship, to teach and obey God’s Word, to encourage one another, and to take the gospel to the world.
